Job Title: Per Diem School Nurse
Job Type: Per Diem
Pay: $337/day
Position Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Per Diem School Nurses to join our team and provide essential healthcare support to students in various schools and districts throughout Delaware. As a Per Diem School Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of students by delivering quality healthcare services and promoting a safe and nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Healthcare Services: Provide comprehensive healthcare services to students, including but not limited to assessment, first aid, medication administration, and emergency care as needed.
- Health Education: Offer health education and counseling to students, staff, and parents on topics related to nutrition, hygiene, and general wellness.
- Health Record Management: Maintain accurate health records, including immunization records, medical histories, and incident reports. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and parents to address the healthcare needs of students and facilitate a healthy learning environment.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, injuries, and illness incidents promptly and effectively. Administer appropriate care and follow established protocols.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications to students following physician orders and school policies. Ensure proper storage and documentation of medications.
- Health Screening: Conduct health screenings and assessments as required, such as vision and hearing tests, and assist with health-related programs and initiatives.
- Health Promotion: Promote healthy behaviors and habits among students and staff through health promotion activities and awareness campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Delaware for 1+ years
- CPR certification
- Pediatric or School nursing experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Knowledge of state and federal health regulations in an educational setting
Work Schedule:
This is a per diem position with flexible hours based on the school's needs. Per diem nurses will be scheduled as needed and are encouraged to provide their availability in advance.
